NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund Youth Essay Contest 

Papers were submitted for the 2005-2006 academic year writing contest by students enrolled in an elementary, junior high or high school. The papers were graded by Attorney Skipp Galythly. Senior Category:Nicole Seabolt of Baltimore, Maryland, first prize; Tina Maly of Lodi, Wisconsin, second prize; Larson Crane Gilmore of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, third prize; Hien Nguyen of Katy, Texas, honorable mention. Junior Category: Ryan Dunham-Bender of Delta Junction, Alaska, first prize; Pam J. McFarland of Sedgwick, Maine, second prize; Gregory Missar of Centreville, Virginia, third prize; Shelby A. Sturgis of Wilmar, Arkansas, honorable mention.  

Law Student Writing Contest for 2004-2005.  The papers were graded by Professor Robert J. Cottrol.  The winners were  Jerry Bonanno - Seton Hall University School, first place $5,000;  David Joule - Brandeis School of Law at the University of Kentucky, second place $3,000; Brenden Long - Duquesne University School of Law, third place $2,000.

Law Student Scholarship Writing Contest for 2004-2005.  The papers were graded by Professor Robert J. Cottrol.  The winners were   Ryan Sestack - New York Law School, first place $12,500; Craig Steger - Ave Maria School of Law,  second place $5,000;   Heather Byers - Franklin Pierce Law Center, third place $2,500.

Northern Illinois College of Law Writing Contest for 2005.  The papers were graded by Attorney Skipp Galythly.  The winners were Carrie Lynn P. Vine, Ph.D., first place $1,200; Daniel Greco, second place $800; Nathan Ihnes, third place $500.
